John glanced over his shoulder paranoid and jumping at his own shadow. His keys clanged loudly against the silent corridor as his trembling hand fumbled with the rusted lock of his rundown apartment. After hearing the merciful click of the lock he shouldered his way through the door, immediately locking it behind him.
He hadn't always been this way, seeing monsters in every shadow. John had been normal, he had once studied criminal minds and helped identify and lock up criminal. He once had a wife and a daughter. That had all changed over a year ago.
It had been January and he had been helping track a serial killer who's M.O. ha
In the dark of the night with the new moon's light I walked the forest path that I had known since young. I hugged my black cloak around my body to protect myself against an unearthly chill that seemed to have set in when I entered the forest. It had been roughly five years since I had last seen this forest where my family and I had grown up. The forest had changed; it's vibrant, flourishing trees, once lush and full now stood like blacken bones. Not only was there a physical change, but there was something else. The once magical forest where my brothers and I ran wild in now held a sense of doom. This change made me ponder what could have o
Mothers
A soft touch
A gentle word
A shelter from the storm
This is what a Mother is for
Arms to hold you
Wisdom to guide you
Strength to let you go
This is what a Mother is for
To give Courage that fills
To give Love that surrounds
To give Hope that shines
This is what you are for
Happy Mother's Day, Mom

Nights Escape
I lay dreaming sleeplessly during the
midnight hour. The moonlight setting
naked skin aglow, while the
midsummer breeze kisses my body.
Through the window the night's ancient
song beckons me into its deep mystery,
daring me to let go and fall into its
embrace.
Gently as a lover's caress my spirit falls
into the night's open arms as sleep takes
my body. As my spirit dances among the
stars my mind lays dreaming, escaping
for a few precious hours from the chains
of reality.

Hey, Not really much to tell about myself. I am 23 with a 3 year old son. I am working on my BA in English and am debating going on to a Masters in Creative Writing. I've always enjoyed drawing and painting. My senior year of high school I had three art classes a day. Art is something I do as a hobby and enjoy:)
